Tankers are vessels used for carrying a large amount of liquid cargo. Tankers can generally be classified into the following categories:

• Oil tankers primarily carry crude oil and by-products.
• A liquefied gas carrier (or tanker) transports LNG or LPG in bulk.
• A chemical tanker is designed to transport chemicals and liquid products in bulk.
